4. Chapbooks are usually associated with entertainment for the working classes. It was an engaging form of literature that common people could afford. Traditional chapbooks featured folk figures such as Jack and the Giants, Fair Rosamond or Robin Hood. Newer chapbooks adapted to new circumstances by reprinting older works, but also by offering newer versions of romance, adventure, gothic and other tales.
